Conference Theme:

Reigniting Global Cooperation

Our chosen theme, "Reigniting Global Cooperation," isn't simply a guiding phrase—it directly intersects with pivotal, real-world reforms slated for the United Nations. Notably, this conference will act as an immediate precursor to the UN's "Summit of the Future”, to be held in September 2024. This summit is tasked with determining the United Nations' future reforms to become a more effective, future-oriented institution. Our uniquely formulated "Summit of the Future" committee aims to mimic this impending global event, serving as a test bed for policies and resolutions that could substantively inform the UN's own structural reforms. Resolutions passed at UCLMUN 2023 won't merely sit on a shelf; they will be meticulously analysed by our partner, the Coalition for the UN We Need, and contribute to ongoing UN discussions and preparations for the actual "Summit of the Future". Delegates taking part in the UNHCR committee will also see their work shared with the actual United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees with the best ideas receiving awards by the end of the year.

To ensure that we offer an unparalleled learning experience that fuses educational integrity with innovative discussion, we are honoured to collaborate with several esteemed partners. These include the Coalition for the UN We Need, the UNHCR, and UCL Grand Challenges. Our programme features a diverse array of committees that span from the UN Security Council to the UN Commission on the Status of Women, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the World Health Assembly, and the European Commission. Whether you have never taken part in a MUN conference or can no longer count your Diplomacy Awards, there is a place for you at UCLMUN.

 See you in November!
